THE CROWN WEARS THE CROWN IN KINGHORN

The Scottish GBG entries along the Firth of Forth (of Fife) were very good, pubs for the connoisseur (not the one who likes St Helen brewery taps), but they were a bit quiet.

Not the Crown, which I reached at the Golden Hour of 17:30 after admiring the “beach”,

and viaducts.

You’re not far from the town of Raith, famous for its association soccer team Kirkcaldy Rovers FC. Dave will have heard of them.

I reckon you can tell a good pub even before you enter by examining the font in the windows.

And the porcelain in the Gents where I dashed first confirmed my positive impression.

And, OH LOOK, red bench seating ! You could be in Stockport. Everyone seemed to be laughing at something. Probably me.

Another “old mens’ boozer” if you’re Mrs RM, of course, but what’s wrong with that ? Go back to your Cortado Lounge or Brunning & Pricey.

To be honest, with the entire pub seated at the bar it was an effort to get a beer from the lone tall font (Outlaw says my notes, but who cares ?).

Another NBSS 3 I won’t be able to add to What Pub because they expect you to remember what beer you had when you can’t even see the bar, let alone read the pump clip.
