Beer Twitter is a very serious business full or arguments about authenticity, oppressive capitalism and whether Doom Bar is the bestest beer. Stay well clear of Beer Twitter.
Pub Twitter is fun and uncontroversial, unless you get into county boundaries or Baps v Barms.
In Darlington, my second GBG tick for the year was about to prove something else about Pub Tickers.

Quirky is great, pot plants are fantastic, but high tables ?

But Mrs RM would love the booths, and the beer lists (it helps her choose the strongest one).

And free Swizzels and drumsticks on the table can compensate for an uncivilised opening time (who starts drinking at 17:00 ? Professionals are finishing then).
But best of all, the staff were cheery and that Half Moon IPA superb cool and chewy (NBSS 3.5).

And that was Darlo, which is turning into a mini-Newcastle with each passing year, as new beer bars open and young folk seem to stay local to drink and eat. There’s even an Imperial quarter, and culture, just like in Middlesbrough.

Here’s some young people filming culture. Or an advert for Sugar Puffs.

“(who starts drinking at 17:00 ? Professionals are finishing then).” Classic.

To tell the truth, the keeping has seemed so variable – either that or it has been mis-labelled different beers entirely – that I no longer know what to expect or how it’s meant to taste.
