“Finally” say Dave and Joan, “a post we’re in“.
Not quite. This is the setup.
Loads of this,

and pubs to follow.
Tenby was a key strategic objective in what I’ll indelicately call The Welsh Clearances.
Two GBG pubs, one of them allegedly a cracker, in a town so posh that even Americans will stay there (for the price of a two bed semi in Port Talbot).

I’d been before, once, in 1995. But it must have been a flying trip as I’d surely have remembered this view.

These are actual photos, folks. It is that beautiful.

There’s beaches this sandy, for sure, but the architecture really draws out the views.

It’s a bit bigger than I’d expected, a population supplemented by the entirety of Pembroke Dock, armed with Prosecco. It was as if Cardiff’s fun pubs had been decanted to Southwold.

They’ve even got their own newspaper which was leading on the Southworths visit as I arrived.

So without further ado, I set off to the Crown & Anchor to welcome them.
What’s pretty amazing is the pictures don’t exaggerate the beauty of the town. It really does look like that. I wanna go back…

Not surprisingly, it won my Twitter poll for “Most beautiful town in Wales”.

I thought that the composition of your seagull shot reminded me of something, Martin:

“THE TENBY OBSERVER”
Um, with respect to the front page on dispaly, it says ‘Police Warn of Possible Prison Sentence and Likely Outbreak of Lice’.
Are they implying the lice outbreak would be the result of consorting with the goat or during his, possible, incarceration?
“It is that beautiful.”
Indeed it is.
“but the architecture really draws out the views.”
That could be Curaçao in the Caribbean.
“Micropub”
It’s the easy accessibility that gives it away. 😉
“So without further ado, I set off to the Crown & Anchor to welcome them.”
To be continued!
Cheers

Enjoying your Welsh period. You can tell Tenby is upmarket because it has a £1.20 discount shop. The newspaper excerpts give us an insight into local humour (or customs). It’s a swine of a place to park in though.

Surely you drive into Paddington and take the train from there?
