Today the family walked the 7 mile Cow Hill circuit around the hills south of Fort William, which frankly gave some of the best views you’ll get in the UK.

The Highlands are an expensive short break; the Premier Inn is the most expensive hotel I’ve stayed in, which may say much about me. Worth every penny though, and the beer and particularly pubs meals were very good.

On to Glasgow, where I have just had my first £1 pint for at least 25 years. As standard, Wetherspoons are selling Deuchars at £1.49, before the CAMRA Spoons Voucher (minimum unit pricing applied ?). It wasn’t great, should have gone for Arran Dark. 6 Spoons left to visit in the centre though.

Charing Cross is student central, which is no excuse for the karaoke murder of “This Charming Man” next door.
