Late with the highlights, but at least the blog is now virtually up-to-date, or was before this week’s Proper Day Out in Sawley. Always best to start the month with a Dalek.

A typical looking June map, lots of Lancashire, Yorkshire, London and Kent, but not much else.

No idea why I’ve stuck a red marker in Norwich; I won’t get rid of it that easily.
A mere thirty-four UK pubs in June; you can’t really count Caucasus doughnut shops with bottled beer (top pic).
This month’s highlights were mostly culinary, like this wonderful bap/cob/sandwich in Gyumri.

Yes, this month’s European venture, a real knee-killer, took us to Armenia,

a country whose layers of beauty took a while to uncover but had me hooked by Day 5. In Ferment I find my Beer of the Month,

a tomato gose that has become my new favourite beer style, after “pint”.
I feel a bit conflicted in praising a Russian beer, and telling you that a Dizzy Blonde is a wondrous thing is almost as bad.

Mind you, I had a Greene King IPA in Lytham’s wondrous Taps after the Blonde, so what’s worse ?
Quite a few gigs, and I’ve just declared Eaves Wilder the Future of Rock Music (No. 377), but this month’s top tune, on the basis of just one play, closes Olivia Rodrigo’s 3rd album.
As 3rd albums go, it’s almost on a par with The Queen Is Dead.
In July, I may not be going to the Caucasus.
