NATIVITY

December 2025. Waterbeach.

Back at Sunnyside to see Dad in his care home, greeted by the smile that melts your heart, and feeling rather jealous of his meat balls lunch while we survive on meal deals from Tesco.

It’s useful to keep in touch with the dozens of folk who know Dad, so we popped to the exhibition of Nativity sets at the Salvation Army, put on by a Mum and Daughter I’ve known my whole life.

This collection stretches back decades and covers the Whole Wide World, a bit like a Wreckless Eric song or my blog views map.

2,374 views from the Philippines, so this is for them.

Waterbeach punches above its weight, home to two breweries, some of the UK’s best world cuisine, a leading hyacinth festival, and this ultimate display of nativity scenes (and Beryl Cook print).

It’s been great to see folk in Kyrgyzstan read my posts on Golden Hours in Kinghorn,

so here’s Kyrgyzstan’s gorgeous contribution.

Not sure where this next one’s from, but it’s possibly my favourite;

Christmas, a time for making peace with your neighbours,

even if they started it.

Or perhaps not, yet.

As the song goes…
