NO SANCTUARY FROM SALOPIAN SOURS

July 2025. Liverpool.

My second Liverpool newbie was literally across the road from the Vines.

Looking the Brewery Tap on the map, I already knew I’d been here before six years ago*, when Stafford Paul joined me in Sanctuary at the end of a hectic day of classic ‘Pool pubs.

Oddly, back in 2019 it had the house beers on,

but today seemingly not,

so I have a Salopian x Buxton fruited sour dessert IPA, which is great.

As are the staff, and their music choice (“A Little Respect“), and the customers, some of whom start their crafty beer tours here with Kirsty. I must do one myself.

OK, what now ? Admire the Lime Street brutalism ?

Or its pubs ?

Actually, let’s hop on the next train out to the suburbs.

*Did I need to revisit ? Should you make a return trip if a place moves ? These are ecumenical matters reserved to the Great Ticking Council of Great Britain.
