What a day this has been. Twelve (12) pubs, 6 pints of Scapa Special, 1 inadvisable Orkney whisky, far too much country music on the St Ola jukebox, which ends with me needing just the one (1) pub tick to join the immortal Pubmeister in completing a current (rather than 1987) Good Beer Guide.
Mrs RM (can you spot her ?) is more excited than I am.

Here is the route to the Taversoe on Rousay.

The ferry is booked, the table for two (2) is booked for noon, Baa Baa Toure tells me all will be fine, but I can’t sleep.
I’ve phoned the lady at the Taversoe three times; she says she’ll be open. But what if she isn’t ?
Wow will be an amazing achievement. Looking for a celebrity post on their Facebook page. Love how if you are staying there and on foot they will pick you up from the ferry.

Probably too late to add this momentous occasion to the pub’s 2023 GBG description (assuming of course it is in it 😀)

Ha Ha that would be sad if it dropped out now. One step at a time, not got there yet.

Fantastic, sounds like a great ‘Final tick eve’. good luck for tomorrow. I assume the live coverage of the final pinking is exclusive to those Patreon-ised folk??

Yes, just the Patronised few. Baa Baa Toure is in charge of the videocam so don’t expect miracles.

Did I miss something? Last post was from Wick?

Yes, and from Wick this morning I’ve been to Joh O Groats, took ferry to Stromness, and did the five pubs in Orkney tonight. You’ll have to wait for the posts on those. Just Rousay left.

Where was your final tick ? I’m hoping it was one of the many Mansfield Spoons.

It was in Crosby, Merseyside. Not quite as glamorous as yours!

I don’t know, I love Crosby and Waterloo, photo of the iron men on the beach holding the Guide. Was that the Liverpool Pigeon or the Corner Post ?

Liverpool Pigeon. Can you check when winter hours kick in (and what they are, think Fri-Sat only) when you see there please, though it will probably be next year before I make it after the aborted mission in June.

Will do.
Some preemptive cask in Kirkwall too.

I believe the Taversoe only stocks cask when John Shuttleworth is in residence.
He brings it up from Rotherham in the hatchback area of his Austin Ambassador

That may be true.
