WINTER, IT IS PAST

“Sun is shining, birds singing, City top of the League, cases falling. The light is getting closer.”

That was my contribution to the debate on Blue Moon yesterday, and today’s Covid stats continue to encourage;

Just as importantly, our takeaway from Sang Lung tonight was almost as good as Chung Hwa.

A great Chinese takeaway is as vital to a relationship with your new home as the ability to change a lightbulb in a life partner. Perhaps more so.

And next month James should, finally, move into his first home just down the road from us. Along with four long-standing friends from Waterbeach, none of whom can cook or clean.

As Spring speeds into view I’ve been enjoying some walks with James into the Sheffield hills.

He’s the only person I know, apart from Stafford Paul when a pub’s open, who can match my pace,

if not my enthusiasm for ghost signs, rubbish-strewn rivers, travellers sites and overgrown graveyards.

It’s almost father-son bonding, without the bit where he buys me a pint of Doom Bar at the end.

Great views over the city (top) and some top graffiti among the squalor,

as we attempt to walk every square inch of Sheffield before the pubs open. We may succeed.

Sing it, Eddi.

I’m really not sure what I was doing back then to have missed commenting.*

Give it time. As in, you forget Chung Hwa. 😉

“Along with four long-standing friends from Waterbeach, none of whom can cook or clean.”

I’m sure there’s an app for that. 🙂

Argh! Our crocuses should have bloomed weeks ago! Darn this global warming/climate change thingy.

Is there anybody who can match you for that? 😉

Good luck! I have yet to experience that with either of my two sons (36 and 33 respectively). 😉

“and some top graffiti among the squalor,”

There’s that Family Guy banana thingy again.

    “We may succeed.”

    Sadly, I agree. 😦

    Cheers
