More posts brought to you under “contractual negotiations” as I’d never choose to tick micropubs in Thanet for a living, would I ?
Thanet though, always worth a visit.
I’d walked past Banks when I was in Cliftonville (not the Belfast one) last time out and assumed it was a trendy bar.
It’s not trendy, despite the Bass memorabilia.
Just a well-run locals pub, a micro with music and gin. And unusual dispense.
One bloke when I arrived, half a dozen when I left. They’d all come to meet the man who’d met BRAPA, I guess.
I left them to enjoy Simply Red and Terence Trent D’Arby, whose spell as a half back with Margate alongside Buster Bloodvessel in the late ’80s ensures his enduring popularity here.
Terence dropped out of the public consciousness around the same time as this classic.
