Yes, the three components essential for a great month.

Oh, and this;

I’m up to 20 May with the posts, so you’ve still got weird pubs with BRAPA, Welsh pubs with the Southworths, and Toby carveries in Tipton to come.

HIGHLIGHTS

Sixty new GBG pubs in May, target hit. Plus old favourites in Buxton and Rugby.

What did you do to save pubs in May ?

New Pub of the Month Monk, Buxton.  Everything you want from a pub.  Without that unreliable real ale !

No cask, but…

Brilliant mistake. Visiting the Auckland Arms in Pompey instead of the Apsley House in Auckland Road. Classic ticker error.

Best purchase at the Charity Sale – Model of the Isle of Wight filled with ashes of pub tickers who took duff pints back.

Two to go, folks

Best beer. Technically, it was Blackjack Aces High in Clitheroe (NBSS 4.5). But we all know it was really the Black Sheep in the Half Moon in Rugby, don’t we.

JUNE PREVIEW

Filling in the gaps, so probably Isle of Wight (2), Cheshire (2), Durham (3) and Tyne of Wear (3). And more Bass.

  1. “so you’ve still got weird pubs with BRAPA, Welsh pubs with the Southworths, and Toby carveries in Tipton to come.”

    Can’t wait. 😋

    “Classic ticker error.”

Obviously one of the many posts I missed in the month of May. 🤔

“Model of the Isle of Wight filled with ashes of pub tickers who took duff pints back.”

From the description I was expecting something much bigger. 😏

“Technically, it was Blackjack Aces High in Clitheroe (NBSS 4.5). But we all know it was really the Black Sheep in the Half Moon in Rugby,”

Conflating Clitheroe with Rugby. I won’t tell you what image in my mind that conjures up. 😳

    “And more Bass.”

    Can there ever be enough?

    Cheers

  2. Fantastic block you’ve got coloured in there.

I’m currently in the Dog and Pheasant, Ashton, having just had a pint of Bass in the Dog and Partridge up the road by mistake. Good job I realised!

When are you in Tyne and Wear? I’m there next Friday and then the following Sunday and Monday.
