“Oh no, not more foreign muck !” I hear you cry. ‘Fraid so.
Part 2 of my 2015 Belgian holiday snaps come from Brussels, just in case Pauline needs any ideas or gets bored of shopping for chocolates and pashminas.
Obviously we were catching Eurostar back from here in the afternoon, so goodness knows why we went to the Comic Book Center when there was all those lambics for Mrs RM to sample, I’ve no idea.
Brussels is a mess of a place, but it’s a lot more lovable than Paris, and not just because of the bars. In Montmartre you get Zappa, here you get the Boss (and arrows to point him out).
We never did find the statue of Plastic Bertrand, but here’s the famous one of BRAPA taking a leak on the side of the A428 on the way to Great Staughton.
Sticking with the theme, I took this on Rue du Lombard; 5 points if you know where.
On a more sombre note, we were there in the week of the Charlie Hebdo attack.
The Grand Place was quieter than usual, and we wandered aimlessly looking for an authentic Brussels boozer,
before settling on this one at random;
No idea then it was famous, but it must have been wonderful as I don’t remember anything. Mrs RM reckoned it was great.
I didn’t take any photos inside, or they were useless, so enjoy these from Dave Atkins today.
Do they spell “Bruce” with three “u”s in Belgium, then?

The Brexit Party.
Today,the 8th of February,2019,is the first time it has been mentioned on RM’s blog.
Mark it in your diaries.
An historic date.
Mark my words.
( Yes,of course I’m drunk )

Well, I can’t get 5 points for knowing where it is, but– urinal or not– that Twyfords logo is a lovely one. 🙂
