October 2026. Sheffield.
I’m grateful, genuinely, for all your comments, even if they’re nothing to do with my posts.
Back in Sheffield last weekend I got the campervan fixed, did some paperwork on Dad’s finances, and caught up with some new music on Tidal.
No crispy beef from Sang Lung (who will save the Chinese takeaways !), but I did join James for tea in a newish ramen house 10 minutes down the hill on the unlovely takeaway-filled Infirmary Road.

Never turn down an invitation to tea from your children;

my own Dad never did.
Sheffield has disappointed us a bit for curry, but there’s few better places for Chinese and Japanese food,

and we immediately regretted walking past Soulyaki on the way to big Tesco without popping in for so long.

A few seats by the window, just the one table, onto which were plonked a series of steaming dishes consituting the £13 set meal.

Gorgeous chicken ramen with Udon noodles in spicy broth and oodles of green tea. Almost healthy.

I had to try the salted edamme beans,

but one try is probably enough.
I just cannot get on board with ramen. I have tried many times. Glad you enjoyed it though!
