BECKS. THE GRIFFIN, FROME

August 2026. Frome.

Yes, I’m really milking the Frome Folly Jolly for content, and appropriately Pub 7 talkes us to Milk Street, former home of Milk Street (now Frome) Brewery.

The Griffin is the perennial GBG entry, the quirky local embodying alternative Frome with its legendary live music.

I’m guessing it gets busy later, as our group of stragglers outnumbered the locals.

Zig Zag Stout has been the signature beer at my Dorset music festival for years, so I had that,

but sitting at the bar the custom was dominated by this fella.

Yes, sitting on the Becks tap and I still had to ask who it was.

Spreading out onto the communal drinking table (a featture in Frome) seem to have lost the Hampshire visitors by now, and Stafford Paul.

Perhaps he’d nipped back into town to tick the Palmers Bottle & Tap. Perhaps not.
