I’m suddenly miles behind on the blog again. How has that even happened ?
April 2026. Birmingham.

I’d just had the overdue glass of water on my Curated Exploration of Public Houses (CEPH), but forgotten to eat.
Across the road from The Wolf, Mr Tasty offered artisanal pizza (possibly),

but you’ll know how seriously I take my diet.
I headed back towards Colmore and posher Brum, where the Wesleyan‘s shiny HQ reminds me where the fees on Dad’s investments get spent.

See the cars they drive round here !

Next to all that construction work is the brand new Society, the Brum take on Manchester’s food court with a craft bar.

OK, I can see “Steady Rolling Man” up there, so it’s hardly cutting edge, but that cask range is good enough,

and the Attic Quarter is a cool, crisp 3.5. More enjoyable than Attic’s own tap, and judging by other beer scores I reckon Society is a pre-emptive tick.
I ordered a nice wrap from the Indian place,

and left just in time to catch the train home.

But not too soon so as to get distracted by the Wellington again.
Just seen the memo from CAMRA HQ announcing that half points will be removed from the NBSS from 1st June. That’ll set the cat amongst the pigeons in some quarters, although I’ve never used them myself
