THE 2016 REVIVAL CONTINUES APACE ! A £3 PINT IN A FLEETWOOD MICRO

January 2026. Fleetwood.

I’d travelled the length of Blackpool’s tram network for some photos of a noble if faded seaside town and a GBG tick.

And, while the Beer Shed looks a bit plain micropub,

it’s another exemplar of the model, cheery and chatty and a great advert for cask.

First of all, I have to get in. As I stand outside an Old Boy tells me I’ll have to go in the estate agents and ask for “Stuart”, which sounds like code for something.

Stuart lets me in to his quirky pub,

and pours a pint of what sounds like an interesting vegan beer.

Wait, under three quid ? I know we’re in peak 2016 nostalgia but that’s quite summat.

Are they selling it off quick ? Apparently not, as the house mild from down the road in Cleveleys is the same price; I’m told it’s on for the 90 year old regular.

It’s a homely, civilised place. No knobs, no riff raff, cash if possible, please.

You could come here to read a book and have a great night out with 3 pints and a thousand calories of peanuts from the dispenser on the tables.

The Everton supporting guvnor is a mine of information about Fleetwood, and football, and keeps a top class cellar. This £2.95 pint is a robust, chewy joy of a beer.

Great little place. with a couple of trad pubs and a Spoons in town as well, Fleetwood is a top mini-crawl.”And a tram every ten minutes“, I note, dashing for the platform.

  1. My top notch pint of Bass in Stafford’s Coach and Horses this afternoon was £2.85. I should have stayed for another although the Tiger was drinking well in the Sun as was the £3.30 Pedigree in Hogarths.
