December 2025. Faversham.
Part 2 of Mrs RM’s eve of birthday bash, though a drier “bash” you’ll never see.
A dozen “must sees” marked on our Faversham map,

the most exciting of which was “warm sausage roll from Tommy Butcher the Butcher“.

At least, I think the surname was Butcher. It was a sensational sausage roll, anyway.
A town for the purist,

with an impressive number of genuinely independent shops.
Old Mudgie could have got his ’70s rock badges for his denim jacket here.

Normally I’d say “Look Up“,

but the Faversham frontages are pretty good,

unless you’re not keen on the sight of dead pheasants.

The market place is a real throwback; no artisanal nonsense. Almost as quiet as Atherstone, mind.

What is this sartorially elegant gent selling ?

We caught it at its best, for sure,

though sadly we were leaving the pubs for later that night.

Shepherd Neame or Shepherd Neame for tea ?

Who needs choice ?
I still find Faversham one of the prettiest towns we’ve visited. Great base for north Kent.
