“High Hopes Silver Lining”

November 2024. Rye Harbour.

Oh. There’s more of Mrs RM tour diary. She clearly dislikes the bus as much as I do, though any journey that gives you blog material like “Glad I’ve got “extra” on my bum” is surely worth the £2 fare.

The options back at the harbour aren’t great, just the Sheps diner, the social club with alleged cask,

and the much maligned holiday park club house, where the menu has gone from “ping” to gourmet and back to “ping” in a year.

Mrs RM has a bonus from her holiday lets she has to spend on beer and food at the club house and this her poor attempt to run down the credit;

Oh well, at last she her Neck Oil (not rated on Untappd).

But really she’s there for the cutting-edge entertainment (press PLAY);

Actually, that’s a great version of the Tiffany classic. Back in Waterbeach my entertainment is less impressive;

Mrs RM appreciates the enthusiasm, and with her unique musical knowledge I can only hope she didn’t sing along.

Oh look, I think she’s found the duck lady.

  1. I get the impression that the holiday park clubhouse has a captive audience. I find Stagecoach bus drivers very good. They offer friendly greetings when you get on and leave the bus and they wait for passengers to sit down before they start off. However the bus suspensions and the roads do not help for a comfortable ride. Also bus maintenance seems to be lacking. I recently nearly missed my stop because the bell wasn’t working and yesterday the bus had a problem with the doors not opening.
