Oh yes. Curry and Greater Manchester beer night with Blackpool Jane, after a Bailey’s chaser.

Now, here’s why Jane is so great.

That’s the prescribed walking route from the Crown to the Magnet, but it’s SO dull.

Why not walk under the M60 and along the A545 to save a minute?

Well, you’re clearly not supposed to, they’ve put down irregular paving to stop you in your lady shoes.

But did Jane complain? Only under her breath, I suspect. Mrs RM cursed.

Ah. The Magnet. Wonderful pub, hadn’t been for years.

Jane had never been. She was in raptures.

Milk chocolate orange stout? Enville ginger ? She couldn’t choose. She had both.

I saw the Batham at the very last second and changed my order.

It was stunning (NBSS 4). Jane looked jealous.

I’d already scored her beers on Untappd, without even a sip, just so I could have the badges.

The Magnet felt bigger than I remember, a multi roomed gem.

But it was too hot to drink, Mrs RM had a coke, and we resolved to revisit and do it justice.

I drank Jane’s dregs so I wouldn’t be arrested by the Untappd auditors.
