ALL THE PUBS IN THE MANCHESTER BEER BOOK – TRACK BREWERY TAP, PICCADILLY

May 2024. Manchester.

Three (3) entries in the Mancunian Beer Book ticked in a little over an hour, all of them modern brewery taps underneath (or close to) the railway arches. What a cliche I’m becoming.

But Track make excellent real ale; their Sonoma has been one of the great cask beers of the last decade. And their Tap has terrific pizza.

And a healthy chunk of the football trade; lots of groups of lads in City away kits can squash in those benches.

My first/last trip here 18 months ago with Matt was a bit mixed; cold keg, less than cool cask in dimpled mugs, good feel to the place.

It’s in the GBG now, but I went keg; a WC White Leaves pale @ 5.7%.

“What’s WC ?” I ask the nice chap, feigning an interest in beer.

“West Coast”. I knew that !

Actually I know nothing about beer, and I don’t understand why keg beer has to be so carbonated; the pales more so than the stouts I reckon.

I also don’t know much about pizza, and ordered the vegan one without cheese. You need cheese on pizza, but not bubbles in beer.

Hey, your beer looks incredible !” said the City fan on the next table.

Did it ? I thought his cask Dark Mild looked gorgeous; perhaps it could have been cooler.

Anyway, great venue, lovely folk, cute loos.
