AN EXCELLENT END IN EVESHAM

August 2023. Evesham.

Forgive any typos, this post is brought to you from the Spoons in Bognor Regis, a cultural experience of its own.

For a second year I completed Worcestershire at an Evesham pub, this time a Proper Pub I can’t quite believe had only just made the GBG.

The walk from the station reveals new layers of detail in Evesham,

a genuinely intriguing place with scruffy shops and quiet spaces

and a musical history to savour.

The Trumpet had defeated me once with its now ultra rare afternoon closing, but not twice.

It must serve a lot of lunches to gentlefolk at lunchtime at these prices,

but at just before 3 it was heaving with Professional drinkers.

Proof that Hook Norton can do the town boozer as well as the rural hotel.

The Hooky here was superb,

a cool crisp and fruity 3.5 best enjoyed in the wonderful outside drinking area away from the death metal inside.

Death metal ? In a Hook Norton pub ? End of times mate.
