What is THAT !?

June 2023. ?????.

Yes, I’m keeping this anonymous, I haven’t even named the plant pot.

I can’t be bothered to have an argument with the pub or you or CAMRAs who insist I take duff beer back.

But you’d think a beer from a pub with enough awareness of “good beer” to stock this,

would know not to serve a pint that looked like this,

wouldn’t you ?

You MUST take it back, RetiredMartin. It’s your duty“.

And to be honest, I was just grateful to get a cool cask pint on a scorchio Sunday that it took me a few gulps to get the sharpness, and I was half way down before I saw the horror beneath. And no, that’s not (vegan) haziness, before you ask.

I feel sorry for Cellar Head. Anyone buying their no doubt diligently brewed beer and getting THAT would no doubt give it a swerve next time it was up against Harvey’s on the bar.

As it was, I took a half full glass back to the bar and left it in the gaze of three staff, none of whom were about to get engaged in a debate about the cask lottery, and went out in search of some quality beer.

  1. I’m not particularly sure what I’m meant to be spotting! I’m not quite as expert. It might help to have a sideways view.

  2. Fighting talk that! (Smile)

If you only had half a pint, I reckon that makes it £14 a pint. Ouch!

    1. I’m guessing that if it looks like frog spawn then it probably tastes like frog spawn. But who knows what that tastes like? (NFSSS 3.5)

      1. “FULLER TASTE” says the pumpclip.
Obviously not the Fullers taste when “the Pride’s drinking well”

      2. I have just read
“Draught Bass is now a regional brand. A distribution map would look a bit like a tadpole with an outsize bulging head in the east Midlands—principally Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire—and a thin tail snaking down into the West Country. Plus a scattering of frog spawn around Wales.”
Nothing wrong with the frogspawn in Wales !

  3. A sign of the times I think. It’s been a very long time (years) since I’ve had to take a pint back, but only recently I’ve had to do it 3 times at different pubs.
