“It looks like a Scalextric track”. One last Riga craft bar and then we’re off.

May 2023.

Pretty much done with Riga now; you can always follow @SirQuinno and @Sir_Doris on Twit if you want more.

But you’ll be wanting your Baltic cat before we go;

They like their cats in Riga, particularly the ornamental ones, and it’s a city that doesn’t suffer from dog mess, always a blessing of you’ve visited similarly attractive Belgian towns.

You could walk the streets of old and newish town in a couple of days,

and you’d only really feel you’d missed on the beer bars, which were stunning.

We ended our night at the newish Miezis & Co, a Baltic version of Ports St Beer House or Pelican.

Mrs RM noted the fake grass on the walls was strangely reminiscent of the Scalextric she probably nicked off her brother, and she was (as always) right.

It wasn’t as cosy as the ancient Folk Klub or Corner Bar, built next to a modern housing complex facing the markets,

but it was unfuss and fun for last 8% Baltic Porter of the night.

I have NO idea about the referees whistle in the picture of the loo.

Perhaps a 4th division Latvia Liga match was played on the grass. Duncan will know.
