Three years ago I escaped from the CAMRA AGM to do a bus trip round the Fife coast to Anstruther.

I’m not saying the CAMRA AGM was dull, but the main discussion concerned whether Life Members (“leeches”) should be shot or hung. Why waste bullets, I say.
In 2019 I declared Anstruther “rubbish”, but now I tell you it’s a wonderful seaside resort. Why do you believe a word I say.
The photos don’t do it justice,

but the golden coloured buildings give it a mellow magic I’d missed last time.

On my tour a bloke threw his Barnetts chicken bake over the wall. “Hope the seagulls like it !”. I nodded sagely, pretending to care.

There’s even a Solar System model, whatever that is.

Lots of young folk on day trips from St Andrews or Cupar, most of them in the queue for the (disappointing) chippy.
The two pubs had disappointed last time, but the Dreel Tavern was quality.

DESPITE being a bit quiet.

A warm welcome, comfy seating, and a very decent, cool and crisp Jarl (NBSS 3 +). Remember Jarl ?

Across the road, the Bank (last surveyed in 2015) was making a brave attempt to pull in pre-emptive tickers but I’m resisting that nonsense this year.

Fellow tickers may lack my discipline.
You can learn all about Solar System models next time you’re “home”, but hurry, it will have to be in August, and I can appreciate that you might have better things to do that month:
