READ ALL ABOUT IT, BREWS OF THE WORLD

I still had 20 minutes till my second and final Burton GBG tick opened, 17 minutes before the train left for home, and you should NEVER walk past a new pub recommended by Life After Football.

Particularly one like Brews of the World that bothers to be open, look inviting, and be full of Bass tat.

It was busy, too, perhaps the busiest in Burton, and I had to take a half of Leatherbritches to the back aka the Double Diamond corner.
Some proper seating in the corner,

but the stool gave the best views to accompany a rich stout (3.5), and the chance to ponder how on earth this isn’t in the Good Beer Guide. Apart from the fierce competition for places, of course, all the Burton entries are worth their listing.

I pondered that mystery in the Gents, too.

It can only be the curse of Life After Football; he doesn’t do GBG pubs, does he ?

  1. That Leatherbritches beer looks good!

I was in this pub two weeks before the first lockdown in March last year. At the time it was keg only, with a “long term plan to have cask beers too”. (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/88651/) So I reckon the hand pumps will have been installed fairly recently put perhaps just in time for the pub to make it into the GBG 2023. Nice pre-emptive tick!
