Do keep up at the back.
Official Pub No. 3 on the Macc Attack came via the underpass to Park Lane, after a quick stop to admire the Pie Maker.

Some local school children had been roped in to design some graffiti tiles so that you lingered in the underpass, rarely a good idea. I particularly enjoyed “Some Day We’re Gonna GETSO HIGH”, commemorating a track from the Macc Lad’s 3rd, ambient, album.

This is a great place for tiling lovers (pick me !, pick me !),

and aficionados of “Proper Food at Proper Prices“.

The Park Tavern looks Proper Pub as well,

but inside it still looks a bit modern and will now be etched in our memory as the place where Pub Curmudgeon erroneously (he alleges, read here) ordered a craft keg beer. See if you can spot it from my drone shot.

It must be nearly 10 years since I visited the Park, and again I liked it despite a rather plain and functional interior (though the cinema room is a nice touch).

The welcome was lovely, the Bollington Stout a cool, smooth NBSS 3.5 and the seating comfortable.
Quote Of The Day – Moderation Was A Mistake (unattributed) came here too.
Best of all, we acquired a new member of our group with whom we could compare bodily ailments and Bass availability. Oxford Nick, whose blog “Prop Up The Bar” is essential reading, recognised Baa Baa Toure from my Tik Tok videos and came to say hello, and was never allowed to leave. It’s great to have company from The Grim South.
We even got him to draw pictures of us on the underpass tiling on the way back into town.

Anyway, on to the Bass.
Is Oxford Nick doing an impression of Baa Baa Toure, or t’other way round. They could be twins!

You might very well say that, I couldn’t possibly comment.

Oh well, at least I haven’t been compared to Colin the Cauliflower. Yet.
Loving those pictures of the underpass tiles.

Are oatcakes some, err, southern variant of breadcake?

Oatcakes are a Staffordshire version of the savoury pancake, generally filled with cheese and ham or similar and sold in market places (particularly in Stoke-on-Trent).
