“Enough of all these pubs” writes RetiredDave, “give us pictures of Cornish charity shops with micro hours“.
I should start a business selling these printed signs in Thanet.

No GBG pub at Lizard Point this year, but as the most southerly point of mainland Great Britain (whoopy-do) I supposed I ought to visit, if only to get some value out of the National Trust cards my parents always buy us instead of chocolate.
Wow.

Surely that cabin down by the beach will be a craft bar in 2021 ?

The wind was so strong I nearly ended up in the Scillies, which would have given me a tick at St Agnes, at least.
The Ship at Porthleven was almost as dramatic, bursting out of the rocks to taunt Rick Stein’s chippy.

I seem to be the only person who’d never been here.
Very tourist Cornwall, but more drinkers than pashminas, and scampi and chips in a basket was only 6d.
They even had Doom Bar on !
And Skinners Porthleven, a solid 3+. The best tourist pub of the trip.
If only folk wouldn’t take unintentional selfies in the Bell’s mirror.
Oh, and that title ?
It’s only scampi in a basket because chicken hasn’t been invented in Cornwall yet.

A lovely looking pub in what looks to be an exceptionally scenic location. Your “I saw a 3 point turn” just takes the breath away.
If that’s what the interior of a touristy Cornwall pub looks like, then I’d say Cornwall is doing tourism right. π

Indeed. Though I don’t think many of those pubs were built with tourists in mind π

Doom Bar was devised in 1994 by Bill Sharp with tourists in mind.
But then Molson Coors saved them the trouble of travelling all that way.

We were in The Ship a few weeks ago -it was packed (folk like us there for the weekend I suppose ) but we loved it -the weather was spectacularly vile & we were nearly blown off the pier & car ended up covered in sea foam.We checked out all the pubs but this was the best !

Yes, great pub experience, and I saw cars out the pub window looking very vulnerable π±π±
