No, not Matthew. The wallpaper (apparently).
I rejoined the Preston Craft Advance Group in the Moorbrook after checking in to my trusty Premier Inn, narrowly resisting the urge to sleep till Saturday.

My formal visit to the Moorbrook must have been just before I started this blog in late 2015, and somehow I did it on a day when Matthew wasn’t sitting in the corner.
It was packed back then. This time it was just our pub heroes from Sheffield, Sowerby, and next door.

What a beautiful pub.

It clearly was before, but I somehow missed it. Like a Gornal free house, or North Chesterfield boozer or the Coachmakers in Stoke, it’s simple but classy. Like me.

Shame we tipped up just before the 5pm rush, but never mind, we had ourselves.

And the beer, including my Raw Stout, which was certainly GBG standard.
More importantly, look what a pleasing array of colours it makes.

Yes, the back-up BBB group caught up as were finishing our halves, and we were happy to linger while Matthew explained the wallpaper patterns and we clung to hopes of an England defeat by less than 300 runs.

Eventually Pete found enough internet to log in to Untappd and enter his Carling, and we were free to move on to the pub that was most likely to divide opinion.

No, not the Black Horse.
A great post but the last line about Pete made me chuckle the most 😄 Gornal boozers 😮

It can’t be very often they get a customer whose shirt is so fully capable of competing with that wallpaper. 😉

I think that’s why Matthew is their biggest customer. Camouflage.
