December 2025. Waterbeach.

First off, more pics from our artisanal family Christmas Day, “hosted” (ugh) by Mrs RM in a largely empty Sunnyside with the use of a few pots and pans brought back from Rye. That’s a bit like “cuckoo” brewing Bass at Donnington, I guess.

Spag Bol and ungrated cheese on Charlie the Caterpillar plastic plates for tea, while Dad gets Prawn Cocktail, soup, Turkey with all the trimmings and Christmas pudding .

And a party hat.
I’m sure the correct plates and cutlery makes a big difference to food; Mum always warmed up the bowls for the Chung Hwa, a luxury I don’t have on my Waterbeach stays.

And Proper glassware adds (checks big spreadsheet) up to 0.32 to NBSS scores, as I discovered in the Sun last week.

Gary and Bev have worked magic with the much-maligned Pedigree,

and in this glass,

rather than the one from the week before,

it reaches heights not seen since the Holly Bush at Makeney.
You’re doing parental aging care in a way that really impresses.

Back to in-laws today. Sadly only coffee in the Tonbridge Spoons.
I’d have invited Paul B along for a pint of Abbot but he insists on 40 minutes notice 😉

I hardly checked my phone at all, yesterday Martin, especially after being admonished by Mrs PBT’s for too much screen time – “get your face out of that phone”.
She did have a point, up until the time she decided to check social media, for the latest goings on, in her own dysfunctional family – nothing of any real, or significant importance!
Glad you managed a brief family get together at Waterbeach. It looks like your dad was enjoying his Christmas dinner.
Seasons greetings to you all. I might even knock out a short blog post!
