July 2025. Farnham.

While Kentish Paul waited for his Club Ciabatta in Farnham Pub No.1, I nipped out and bought my own lunch, a rather less artisanal affair from Poundland.

Those packs have been a quid for near on 20 years now, which raises some questions I’d rather not be answered.
My escort of Paul to the Hop Blossom was totally unnecessary, but I know how Kent folk can get a bit nervous in rough Surrey towns.

Like Paul, I thought this GBG perennial didn’t look like a Fullers house,

but then the Youngs pub coming soon doesn’t scream Youngs, either.

It takes a pub of remarkable plainness to generate no notes, or Untappd check-in, so the only comment I have on the Hop Blossom is “nice watch”.

I reckon that, once again, everyone bar me went for Hophead or St Austell.
So it falls on me to confirm the Pride was drinking well.

And even it wasn’t, you’re convinced by the foamy head, aren’t you ? Aren’t you ?
Looks great!

That does indeed look good, a great foamy head. I’d have gone for hophead or that Snozzle thing too….
