ALL THE PUBS IN SHEFFIELD ON FOOT – LOXLEY No. 3

February 2025. Sheffield.

A Sunday lunchtime in west Sheffield with the Sheffield Hatter, who is keen to promote the merits of Ecclesall Road and Sharrow Vale.

It’s a bit like pushing the case for Chorlton or Stirchley; the beer is good quality but the bars might be a bit, er, pokey for some.

Sharrow Vale is a cute area. Sourdough, antiques and tennis shops. And tat.

An obvious location for Loxley of Wisewood to open their third pub, cunningly titled No. 3.

As in the Raven near me, cheap(ish) cask and ambitious keg.

and a few tables, some too small, some too big, that we never warmed to.

Will’s review for Pubs Galore says it all;

Quality beer from a decent local brewer, but the place itself was far too quiet, though the barperson had at least got some taste in unexpected deep cuts.

Let’s see if it feels a bit more lived-in in 6 months.

We moved on, past the Silk Road and the narwhal.
