NEW IN SHEFFIELD – THE WOBBLY DAGGER

December 2024. Sheffield.

The Blake is a classic Sheffield ale pub and all,

but it’s a new cocktail bar in Walkley you want.

The Wobbly Dagger (nope, no idea) has just been opened in the old butchers-cum-post office by Mrs RM’s hairdresser.

I like the styling a lot, and it’s very neighbourhood Sheffield with no airs and graces.

No menu, either, and at the bar James and I look in vain for a fridge bursting with craft (bottled Madri I reckon, Will) and listen inattentively as our host outlines a range of gin and wine flights.

We say “the first one” as and only later realise that adding gin to 3 pints of Neepsend is a bad idea. Even gin with gold leaf.

Mrs RM and Emma tip up late, have inexpensive cocktails, and agree this is a cheery addition to South Street’s rather limited drinking options.

It won’t be in GBG26 though, tickers;

I couldn’t even check-in on Untappd, and remain bemused by this random pub sign.

Bet Stafford Paul can identify it
