November 2024. Bath.
Seven short posts for seven pubs (great film title) for you,

unless I add an eighth for the cheese and wine hotel at our Z hotel.
That cheese (brie) had still been on my face the time I’d first gone in the Raven, which is the UK pub with the most complex entrance arrangements.

Kier Starmer fell foul of the Raven’s entrance restrictions 3 years ago, but that was more because of his insistence on a taster than cheese on his face.

2 entrances, at least 4 seating areas, and a pub packed with groups of young folk gorging on pies on a Tuesday lunchtime.

Decent craft, but it’s Otter you want.

What you don’t want is for some idiot to knock his pint of Otter all over the table you’ve just commandeered. I partly redeemed myself by mopping up a quarter of it with an Otter drip mat, but that was £4.79 worth of NBSS 3.5 beer dripping into the upper floor.
We should have fed Kentish Paul here in 2022, our failure leading to a referral to the Beer & Pubs Group disciplinary committee,

but we made up for it now. I’m still not sure if these are “just” Piemasters with add-ons, but 3 dozen students on pie and pint coke can’t be wrong.

Proper crust, that’s the key.
Nice looking pie. Wow.

Spent ages trying to think of a comparable pub in, say, Manchester, where pubs aren’t as foody. Marble Arch, without the grandeur.

Tremendous.

Dave,
It’d probably be nice looking mashed potato if everything wasn’t stacked up.
I had the stew.

The group certainly redeemed itself for the 2022 misdemeanor, as both the pies 🥧 and the pub itself were of the highest quality.

I guess in some ways those Fuggles pubs near you have similarities to the Raven, Paul. Good cask and keg and quite a big food trade centred on a few items (cheese mostly in Fuggles).
