January 2024. Kelham Island.
The problem with “a quick pint” in Kelham is that it turns into two, and then tea at a pub.
You’d think that Sheffield’s pubs were pretty much beer only, but the Rutland, Fat Cat, and Dog & Partridge have fantastic, cheapish, food.
Mrs RM fancied Bao Buns at SALT.

It’s a nice conversion by Ossett, but I’ve no idea how well the beer and Bao concept is working.

Frankly the cask is “OK”, so I let Mrs RM have the Pale,

while I finally succumbed to that Yonder stout that Blackpool Jane has been raving about.

I guess cans last forever, at least compared to cask, or do they ?
“Caramel, coconut and almond candy stout” isn’t going to convince Stafford Paul, but it was stunning, and not as sweet as you’d fear.
Two Bao Buns each, a veritable feast, and SALT do them far better than North Bar.

And they do alpaca prints better, too.

I’m only interested in bao buns with red bean jam. 🙂
