May 2023.
If these posts seem a bit rushed it’s because we have the in-laws here in Sheffield for ten (10) nights, which isn’t as challenging as two (2) weeks but Mrs RM is already ticking down the minutes.
So some very short posts (I think the in-laws are stealing our internet), with a quick look at Tallinn Old Town.

I think that’s actually me, a poignant photo by Mrs RM on her expensive mobile phone as we explore the many alleys just inside the walls.

Oddly, not too many tourists at 6, presumably the cruise ships and Finnish booze tourists had gone, and the young folk head to the brewery taps and craft bars either side.

So you get it to yourself, and it’s stunning. A touch of Ghent about it in places.

We headed north past the cathedral,

towards an area containing the abandoned remains of the 1980 Russian Olympics, a very rare reminder of the Soviet era.
In an outdoor art gallery some earnest looking folk were queueing for a new exhibition which seemed to be handing out free bottles of local beer but unfortunately Mrs RM didn’t fancy trying to blag our way in, even with Google Translate.

Loads of art along the coast, including the world’s largest Rubic cube.

Mrs RM could have solved the Rubik’s cube in 27 seconds, but instead we pressed on along a ramshackle little coastal path to an old Soviet prison.

Now, inevitably, something arty with cakes. This isn’t a pic of me trying to escape.

More craft beer up next. Come back to the blog in a week if you want to escape that nonsense.
