Back to the local Sheffield walks (no further than 5 miles, honest Guv), with a walk round the ill-defined area known as Manor, which may or may not be a similar estate to Manor in Newcastle. Someone will know.
My objective is to visit ALL the Sheffield pubs externally before the 12th and compile a must-visit list.
I think I have a winner.
OK, it’s not in the greatest area of Sheffield, strewn with rubbish and dog mess, but there are refreshment stopes en-route…
The Manor Castle pub gave its name to a ruined castle at which Mary Queen of Scots invented the first artisan pizza oven.
There’s a huge potential garden with views over industrial Sheff and the cemetery.
Some better photos of the area are on travelbloom’s Instagram; Ann was lucky enough to miss us by an hour on Saturday.
I see handpumps, possibly Tetley, but What Pub promises keg.
It may be a stiff walk from the Park Hill flats, but I can’t wait.
