GUESS THE PUB GOES ESTUARY ESSEX

My virtual trip to the pub today is a bit easier than the last couple, because you’ve had a hard week and deserve a gimmie.

Oh look, some estuary.

Doesn’t narrow it down, but I bet Etu has some hi-tech software that can identify it from that bit of map.

A village with an apostrophe in it, must narrow it down.

And a village with an (in)famous house that I saw on Netflix only last night.

And if you need a BRAPA-style clue to the location, this should help.

Actually, the Guess the Pub is so easy, I might give the prize to the person who can connect the “actress” above to the star of Simon’s latest WWW blogpost.

Our pub hasn’t graced my GBG travels, but there’s one down the road that has won CAMRA Pub of the Year, twice, that you will know.

Our mystery pub has a parlour on CAMRA’s Heritage list though, captured here by Michael Slaughter.

and a beer range for the Proper Pub purist. I have NO idea what the one second left is.

But if Old Mudgie picks up that guitar and starts playing Blur songs, it’s time to leave.

  1. I’ve found this the easiest yet.
“A village with an apostrophe in it” and half the name of someone I knew who moved from Stoke to Belgium for the beer.

    1. Yes, me too – I’ve found the map extract and aerial photo as well, but none of the nearby pubs that I can find offer interior shots, so I can’t verify which it might be – if it’s one of them

    1. I was late to the party 😛

Southend is the largest town in the UK I have never even passed through. Although I’m not sure that south-east Essex will be at the top of my list for post-lockdown holidays.

That looks like my last colonoscopy.*

    * – which I got to watch while it was being done! 🙂

I Googled that. So, near Rettendon?

Wasn’t she in the movie, Ghost Gazongas?

Ha! Finally got one. The Queen’s Head in Tolleshunt D’arcy. Whee! 🙂

“I have NO idea what the one second left is.”

Nor I, but I don’t care because I guessed it!

    Cheers!
